A Fishing license can be purchased at many locations in the town of Gunnison,at the Marinas, or Online. The online process is the easist way to purchase a fishing license. You enter you informaton, and it is saved in the a database to be used every year. Walmart, City Market and Berfields are locations in the town of Gunnison to buy fishing licenses. There are other locations near Blue Mesa to buy a Colorado fishing license, but the above named sources are the easiest. At walmart, you can buy almost everything you need for a long fishing trip. This includes tackle, food, clothes and everyday supplies. At City market, you can get your specialty foods while purchasing your fishing license. At Berfields, can buy get quality fishing gear, Blue Mesa memorabilia, and reliable fishing reports as well as a license. You can also purchase fishing licenses at either Elk Creek Marina or Lake Fork Marina located on Blue Mesa Reservoir. You can run into long lines and you will have to wait unitl 7am and sometimes later to get your license when you should be catching your first fish at 6:15am! Blue Mesa Fishing Guide clients, you must have a valid Colorado fishing license for each fisherperson. Please use any of the above resources to obtain a license before your pickup time, as not to delay the trip. Buying a fishing license at the marina. Remember the morning can be the most productive time to catch fish and wasting time at the marina waiting for a license can hurt your cathc rate. With out any notice these fish can move deep to the cooler water in the morning to feed on plankton and insects.
